Video and speech to text, free – then translate it to Saudi Arabic or English

Paste a link to start

We transcribe the speech you can hear and translate it into editable text. We do not copy the post caption or text shown on screen, and we do not create dubbed audio.

You will review the link and press start in the tool. Nothing starts on this page.

Prefer to upload a file? Open the tool

Got a clip you want to read instead of replaying? Paste its link or upload the file, and wowhook turns the spoken words into text you can edit and copy. In the same run it can translate that text into Saudi Arabic – the everyday dialect, not stiff textbook Arabic – or into English. The original and the translation stay side by side, so you can check one against the other.

Three steps: video to text from a link or a file

  1. Open the tool and paste one public video link per line, or switch to the upload tab and pick audio or video files from your phone or computer.
  2. Under “Translate to”, choose Saudi Arabic, English, another Arabic dialect, or “Original only” if you just want the transcript.
  3. Press start. When it finishes, fix any names or numbers in the original, then copy the text, download it, or export Word or SRT/VTT subtitles.

Supported platforms and file types

SourceWhat to paste or upload
TikTokThe video link (tiktok.com/@user/video/… or a vm.tiktok.com short link)
Instagram ReelsThe reel or post link from a public account
YouTube and Shortsyoutube.com/watch, youtube.com/shorts or youtu.be links; YouTube sometimes blocks our server, so keep the file ready
Snapchat Spotlight, X, FacebookThe link to the clip itself, not the profile
FilesMP3, M4A, WAV, OPUS (saved WhatsApp voice notes), MP4 and other common audio or video formats, up to 100 MB each

Links only work when the clip is public. Private accounts, close-friends stories and members-only videos need a sign-in we never ask for, so upload a copy you are allowed to use instead. From a video file we keep only the audio, and uploaded media is deleted automatically after 24 hours.

Transcript (English)

Impact flashes are caused by micrometeoride impacts hitting the Moon
and they really help tell us about the dynamic lunar environment,
which is of course also important when we think about future missions.

Saudi Arabic translation

لمعات الاصطدام تصير بسبب اصطدامات النيازك الدقيقة اللي تضرب القمر
وهي فعلاً تساعدنا نعرف عن البيئة القمرية الديناميكية،
اللي طبعاً مهمة بعد لما نفكر بالمهمات المستقبلية.

Modern Standard Arabic translation

تحدث ومضات الاصطدام بسبب اصطدامات النيازك الدقيقة بالقمر
وهي تساعدنا حقًا في معرفة البيئة القمرية الديناميكية،
وهو أمر مهم بالطبع أيضًا عندما نفكر في البعثات المستقبلية.
Three lines of real wowhook output from a public TikTok @nasa clip, not edited: Saudi Arabic on 2026-10-13, Modern Standard Arabic on 2026-10-16. “micrometeoride” is a transcription slip for micrometeoroid – the kind of word to fix in the original before you translate again. The Saudi version reads like someone talking (تصير، اللي، بعد); the standard version suits formal or educational text.

When accuracy drops

In these cases, listen to the part that matters, correct the original transcript, then translate again. The translation is built from the original, so a wrong word there carries over.

What it does not do

It transcribes what is spoken. It does not read text that appears on screen or in the caption, it does not dub audio, and it does not burn subtitles into the video. Subtitle files carry the original timing; the translation is plain text for now.

Frequently asked questions

Can I transcribe someone else's video and post the text or translation?

You can transcribe a clip to understand it, take notes, or quote a line with credit to the creator. Reposting the full words or a full translation as your own content needs the rights holder's permission. This is general information, not legal advice.

Does it work with Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts?

Yes, paste the public reel or Shorts link. A link can fail when the account is private, the clip was deleted, or the platform blocks our server – YouTube does this at times. Then upload a copy of the clip you have the right to use.

Can I get SRT or VTT subtitles?

Yes, for the original transcript: export it as an SRT or VTT file with the timing of each line, ready for CapCut, YouTube or a video editor. Translated subtitles with timing are not available yet; the translation is exported as text.

Can I export the transcript to Word?

Yes. Export the translation, the original, or both as a .docx file. Arabic paragraphs are set right-to-left. The file is created in your browser, so the text is not uploaded again.

Is it really free, and how long can a clip be?

There is a free daily allowance with a per-clip length limit, and a monthly membership for longer clips. The current numbers are on the pricing page. For a longer recording, cut out the part you need and upload it.

Will the Saudi Arabic translation sound natural?

It is written in everyday Saudi (light Riyadh/Najdi style) with the same meaning, names and numbers as the original. It does not add greetings or hooks. Have someone who knows the dialect read anything important before you publish it.

Free use, per-clip length limits and the membership are explained on the pricing page. Reading Arabic? Our Arabic guide covers translating English videos into Arabic.
